Simple marketing plan for coaches.
Speaker:How one weekly article powers your entire marketing strategy.
Speaker:You know, I used to dread marketing.
Speaker:Seriously.
Speaker:Mostly because I felt lost as to where to begin or how to make it all
Speaker:purposeful and effective.
Speaker:Like, I knew parts and pieces and I knew what you technically should do, but.
Speaker:But putting it all together in a way that made sense and actually moved my business
Speaker:forward was totally different ballgame and I would dread it.
Speaker:The thought of managing articles, emails, social posts, podcasts, and trying to stay
Speaker:consistent made me want to crawl in bed and hide under a blanket.
Speaker:And matter of fact, I'm sure that I did many, many times.
Speaker:You know, if you have felt this way, and maybe you have felt this way just for
Speaker:simply getting your emails going right, emailing your list consistently, much less
Speaker:all these other things, then you know exactly what I mean.
Speaker:Marketing can feel very scattered, overwhelming, and like something
Speaker:that you're constantly failing at.
Speaker:I know for me, every week that went by that I didn't get done what I had
Speaker:in my head, I felt like a failure.
Speaker:So something had to change.
Speaker:And that's when I decided to radically simplify.
Speaker:Here's what made a massive difference for me.
Speaker:I started creating just one main piece of content each week, my anchor article.
Speaker:And this guided everything else.
Speaker:If you are not someone who loves writing, then this can be a video.
Speaker:This can be an audio recording.
Speaker:Simply pop into your Zoom account, hit record, and start talking about the thing
Speaker:that you want to talk about the topic, right?
Speaker:Get the transcript of that, and use that in place of an article.
Speaker:That's all you have to do. So don't worry about it.
Speaker:If you immediately thought, oh no, I have to write.
Speaker:You don't have to.
Speaker:And like I said, it can just be an audio recording too.
Speaker:It doesn't have to be video.
Speaker:So every Sunday, I write a single article that's my core content piece, because
Speaker:it's just one thing my brain can handle.
Speaker:Sets a clear topic and provides direction for the entire week.
Speaker:There's no more wondering, what should I post today?
Speaker:It's already 4:00pm by the way, because that happened to me all the time, where I
Speaker:would dread and procrastinate and dread and procrastinate.
Speaker:Before you know it, the day's almost gone.
Speaker:And then I would say, so what's the point in posting anyway?
Speaker:It's so late in the day, I'll do it tomorrow.
Speaker:And I'm pretty sure you can guess as to whether it happened the next day or not.
Speaker:So this anchor article, this one piece of content, it's my starting point.
Speaker:It's very simple, clear, and doable.
Speaker:2.
Speaker:Easy Content Multiplication so from this one article, everything else follows.
Speaker:Emails.
Speaker:I take key ideas, stories, or points from the article and turn them into emails that
Speaker:genuinely connect with my subscribers because the thoughts are
Speaker:already clear in my head.
Speaker:This step is easy.
Speaker:It's not draining.
Speaker:I don't have to come up with a topic, right?
Speaker:I don't have to come up with a point.
Speaker:And I can use the IEP method that I have written about previously, which is
Speaker:inspire, Educate, Promote social posts Quick tips, quotes, or
Speaker:reflections from the article Become ready to share social media posts again.
Speaker:No new brainstorming needed.
Speaker:I just repurpose what I have already written.
Speaker:Podcast episodes now, not everybody has a podcast.
Speaker:Mine is very new and it's not being used in the way that most podcasts are at this
Speaker:point in time, where you have your podcast host and they bring on guests
Speaker:to have conversations with.
Speaker:It's just me at this point on my podcast, and there's a reason for that.
Speaker:I want there to be a channel, as you are experiencing right now, for
Speaker:people to listen to my work.
Speaker:So it's just another way to consume the content.
Speaker:And for some people, they enjoy listening more so than they do reading.
Speaker:Okay, so this article then becomes the content for my podcast.
Speaker:As you are experiencing right now.
Speaker:However, I get to add in a whole lot more commentary stories.
Speaker:You know, anything I think of as I'm going through this article, which would not be
Speaker:a fit to put into the article itself necessarily, but it's a great
Speaker:fit to to put into this podcast.
Speaker:Who knows whether I will branch out into bringing people onto the podcast.
Speaker:But for now, this serves a really good purpose.
Speaker:It gives another way for people to consume content and learn more about me and the
Speaker:work that I do and how that might help them.
Speaker:Using the article in this way means there's minimal prep.
Speaker:There's no reinventing the wheel.
Speaker:Yeah, it's the same content as the article, but as I said, I'm
Speaker:bringing in more commentary.
Speaker:I'm sharing stories with you, and I'm having fun with it.
Speaker:You know, I enjoy doing this part of it.
Speaker:I like talking through these things, and it really is that simple.
Speaker:So ask yourself, what do you want to create?
Speaker:What mix would that be?
Speaker:Is it an article or is it a weekly video?
Speaker:Do you want to have a podcast?
Speaker:What platforms are you posting on?
Speaker:Create your own mix, but start small if you don't already have something in
Speaker:place and get consistent with it. First.
Speaker:Number three small systems and Automation for big wins.
Speaker:Here are the other systems I have put in place to create smart shortcuts.
Speaker:I have a quarterly launch cycle.
Speaker:So my happy and successful business Mastermind is promoted, or I should say
Speaker:open enrollment for that is once every quarter.
Speaker:And I have a launch cycle in place.
Speaker:So that's a series of pre launch content emails, a webinar, things of that nature
Speaker:that I have in place every quarter.
Speaker:That means I don't have to figure out how am I going to get more clients.
Speaker:I I know that I have at a minimum, I know that every quarter I'm going to
Speaker:have this launch right to bring more clients into the Mastermind, or at least
Speaker:until it caps out because it is limited to only 20 coaches.
Speaker:Monthly list growth events Every month I participate in events like bundle
Speaker:giveaways, summits or guest appearances on podcasts.
Speaker:Because these are pre planned monthly events, they consistently
Speaker:bring in fresh eyes to my work.
Speaker:Because here's the thing, growing your coaching business, if you don't have an
Speaker:audience to put your offers and all of your content in front of you aren't
Speaker:growing right, you're going to be pretty stagnant.
Speaker:And even if you already have a list, whatever size that list is, whether it's
Speaker:five people or 500 or 5,000, if you aren't actively growing that list every single
Speaker:month, you're not going to have new eyes to put your content
Speaker:and your offers in front of.
Speaker:So that is a big, big priority.
Speaker:Monthly list growth And I use monthly list growth events.
Speaker:So because I have steady list growth, this means I'm always getting new potential
Speaker:clients without scrambling or feeling frustrated because there's
Speaker:no growth happening.
Speaker:Like that's the part of the bigger machine that needs to be moving steadily, right?
Speaker:And working.
Speaker:Another system that I use is AI shortcuts and simplification.
Speaker:So I leverage AI tools to quickly handle tasks like market research, content
Speaker:outlining or even generating fresh ideas.
Speaker:It's like having an extra brain.
Speaker:Without losing more mental energy.
Speaker:These microsystems remove friction.
Speaker:They save me a massive amount of time and help me keep my sanity intact.
Speaker:Because we are solo coaches, we are wearing all the hats.
Speaker:And so it can be really challenging to get all of this done and in place.
Speaker:But with the right systems you can.
Speaker:Absolutely.
Speaker:Because there is no way, for example, without AI that I wouldn't be getting
Speaker:everything done that I am, as well as without a quarterly launch
Speaker:cycle that is on autopilot, there's no way I would get it done right.
Speaker:There would be so many things that would get in the way.
Speaker:And I would push it off another week, another two weeks, and then
Speaker:it just wouldn't get done.
Speaker:Not consistently.
Speaker:Number four, the one simple plan to rule them all.
Speaker:The really good part is having all of this simplified goodness in
Speaker:one clear marketing plan.
Speaker:I use two straightforward spreadsheets to manage and plan where everything
Speaker:or when everything goes out.
Speaker:So for example, articles, emails, social posts, newsletter, podcasts, quarterly
Speaker:launches, and monthly list growth.
Speaker:I have to have that kind of all in one place or minimal places to be able to see
Speaker:it from that kind of bird's eye view and then orchestrate it.
Speaker:So I have two main spots that I keep all of this one is my marketing calendar
Speaker:and I literally scroll to the day of the week and look at what needs to go out.
Speaker:So I have down the left side of this calendar there is the day of
Speaker:the week and then the date.
Speaker:And on Sundays when I write my article, I'm generally planning as well.
Speaker:But I can just.
Speaker:Let's say that I'm having a really hectic week.
Speaker:I can just scroll down to whatever day it is, Monday the 25th, and
Speaker:look and see what needs to go out today.
Speaker:Some of it's already scheduled, but if it's been super busy, it may not be.
Speaker:And I can handle it one day at a time if need be.
Speaker:As I said, that's my main marketing calendar.
Speaker:And most of the time everything is already scheduled.
Speaker:But if not, you know, it's really like maybe 30 minutes of work that needs
Speaker:to be done if I'm doing it day by day.
Speaker:So it's not a big deal because it's all in one place.
Speaker:Having a clear, manageable plan helps me feel and see the progress happening.
Speaker:And that's huge for keeping going.
Speaker:When things get busy or confusing, I just glance back at the plan.
Speaker:You know, it's like as long as you have something to follow.
Speaker:So you know that when things get hectic, just go look at the plan.
Speaker:Follow the plan, right?
Speaker:It keeps you on track.
Speaker:The second calendar that I use is a list Growth planning calendar and
Speaker:this is available for free.
Speaker:It's on my website@theelevatedmind.
Speaker:com and if you are on my YouTube channel, Coach Diaries, it's
Speaker:under each video as well.
Speaker:You're welcome to go grab a copy, make it your own.
Speaker:Use it to help you with your list growth.
Speaker:The other thing that I do, I mentioned my marketing calendar and
Speaker:now I also have something called Marketing Made Doable.
Speaker:I'll make sure that it is linked in the show notes and this is where I map out the
Speaker:my entire system and I share my calendar with you so that you can again make
Speaker:a copy of it and create your own.
Speaker:Okay, so I go into a lot more detail there and show you exactly what I do.
Speaker:So here's the outcome when you're able to start with this.
Speaker:Just one anchor article or one piece of content, whether it's a video,
Speaker:whether it's an audio, doesn't matter.
Speaker:Is peace of mind and real results.
Speaker:Today, marketing feels so much easier, so much more clear.
Speaker:Like, I have it in my head of what I'm doing every week, but I also have it
Speaker:down on paper, and it's almost relaxing. Almost.
Speaker:Almost.
Speaker:Because I simplified, I'm consistently visible attracting clients and growing my
Speaker:business without feeling frustrated and exhausted.
Speaker:And even worse, like, full of guilt because of all the
Speaker:should have should haves. Right?
Speaker:Like, I should have done that.
Speaker:I should have done this, and I didn't.
Speaker:Now, does that mean every week is perfect?
Speaker:No, I still.
Speaker:There's still times when something doesn't get done, but I move it to another day
Speaker:because I have my calendar right in front of me and I simply shift it.
Speaker:Right.
Speaker:If there's something that has gotten in the way.
Speaker:And the bigger thing here is that I can see the results happening.
Speaker:I'm getting more sales, I'm getting more clients and engagement.
Speaker:This past week, I had more sales from digital products come in than I have yet.
Speaker:And I have been bringing in new clients into my mastermind.
Speaker:So all of this is actually working.
Speaker:And that is a huge relief to know that I have a system that's working and if I just
Speaker:keep following it, rinse and repeat, right, that I'll reach my goals.
Speaker:If you're feeling totally overwhelmed, take a deep breath and consider this.
Speaker:What would happen if you just drastically simplified your marketing?
Speaker:I'm not saying that you need to have an article, a blog, a podcast,
Speaker:a video, a newsletter.
Speaker:You don't need all of those things.
Speaker:You do need some content that goes out there, and you should start
Speaker:with that one anchor piece.
Speaker:But what would happen if you just drastically simplified your marketing?
Speaker:For those of you who are thinking, who are you kidding?
Speaker:I don't even do any of that stuff yet.
Speaker:Well, that's okay.
Speaker:My question for you is, what would happen if you created a simple, doable plan and
Speaker:started generating significant growth?
Speaker:What would happen?
Speaker:How would you feel?
Speaker:Would it be a relief?
Speaker:Do you have to do everything I do as I said?
Speaker:No, of course not. I didn't start here.
Speaker:Not at all.
Speaker:I started with my email marketing.
Speaker:I built it up over time and you will too as it fits into your system, right?
Speaker:You add pieces on as you have clarity around it and you know exactly how you're
Speaker:going to do it so that it takes minimal time.
Speaker:Give yourself permission to start small, leverage one core piece of content
Speaker:and build your systems bit by bit.
Speaker:The thing about starting small, getting consistent,
Speaker:creating your systems is you're guaranteeing for future you and future
Speaker:business that everything is going to work out right.
Speaker:Put that effort and intention and care in now so that you're creating a future for
Speaker:future you and future business, okay?
Speaker:It will give you more relief, belief and forward momentum than you can even
Speaker:imagine because when you see things working you begin to believe
Speaker:more because you have evidence.
Speaker:And belief, my friend, is the most powerful force in the universe.
Speaker:So I hope that has been helpful again.
Speaker:Look in the show notes below for some of the resources that I have shared
Speaker:and I will see you next time. Much love.
